Diego Rivera
Project Overview:
Observation is the skill we are concentrating on in our digital art unit. We are using a technique called Visual Thinking Strategies to observe and appreciate art. Observation or seeing things in new light leads to innovation or at the least an awareness of what is going on around us. This can take a form as simple as noticing details in text to determine plot or as complex as observing problems in the world that we can solve. We are using a graphic design tool called Sumo Paint to create our own pieces of art inspired by great works by great artists. The first piece we observed was the, "Allegory of California" by Diego Rivera. We will be tackling a mural type of painting later in the semester.

Jackson Pollock
Our second piece we observed was Autumn Rhythm by Jackson Pollock. His technique of splatter painting is something we tried to replicate.
